  About the Lafarge USA Pauld ing Cement Plant

  The Paulding Cement plant first b egan operations in 1956 in Paulding, Ohio, and their continued success  is founded on the efforts of its 84 dedicated employees and their unw avering commitment to excellence.

  Current Plant Operations

  The Paulding cement plant produces Portland cement (Type I) and Masonry (Type N, M and S). Paulding has an annual capacity of 500,000 metric tons, supplying markets in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Illinois.

  Environmental Commitment

  The Paulding plant operates with the highest level of alternative fuel replacement in the world.  Operating in compliance with HWC-MACT, more than 95% of the plant’s thermal energy requirements come from Fuel Quality Wastes out of other industrial processes, thus virtually eliminating the use of fossil fuels.

  Systech, a fully owned subsidiary of LafargeHolcim, operating on site provides the Paulding cement plant with fuel quality wastes. Paulding has been using fuels that are a blend of waste paint, paint thinners, inks and oils that contain heat value similar to fossil fuels successfully since 1978.

  Putting Safety First

  LafargeHolcim’s first priority is the health and safety of employees, subcontractors and visitors. The importance of safe behaviors and a safety mindset is constantly emphasized as the highest priority, with the goal of zero harm to people. The plant has instituted innovative, effective procedures to keep everyone safe.

  Community Support

  The Paulding plant team is very active in the community, providing not only finical support to local charities and causes, but also helping families recover from tornados and flooding through active volunteerism. The plant is a major sponsor of the Ohio Environmental Education Council and also funds several programs at Paulding High School including the Robotics Team, STEM mentorship and other programs.
